Taking care of your body during pregnancy is even as important as it is after pregnancy. But
most women do not really bother about what happens to their skin as a result of being pregnant until after the baby is born. When you take a look at your body and the toll pregnancy took on it, you will realize it will take much more work to bounce back.
Pregnancy stretches the skin. You need to constantly keep your skin mositurized throughout your pregnancy. Once you have had your bath, apply a thick moisturizer all over your body targeting areas prone to stretch marks like your tommy, arms, back of your legs etc.
Cocoa Butter is a good choice for pregnant women because it moisturizes your skin long enough up to your next bath. So you apply it in the morning and night immediately after bath.
If you cannot get hold of cocoa butter, coconut oil is another good choice. Once u do not mind the greasiness of coconut oil you are good to go.
Some women even go as far as applying body scrub all over the belle to help exfoliate dead skin cells during each bath followed by a dedicated rubbing of cocoa butter or coconut oil.
Which ever moisturizer you decide to use, the key is consistency and never leave the skin area prone to stretch marks dry. It has to stay mositurized daily throughout your pregnancy.
Moisturizing from within is also great. Take a lot of water to help keep you hydrated inside.
