How to obtain your first driver's licence -Steps:
- You need to undergo training at an accredited driving school
- It will be the responsibility of the driving school you attended to take you to to the VIO (Vehicle Inspection Officer) for a driving test.
- If you passed the driving test, you will be issued a certificate of proficiency from the VIO
- With this you can go ahead and complete the driver's licence application form at the Driver's Licence Centre (DLC)
- Driver's licence fee payment. This can be done online or at the bank
- You will head on to endorce your driver's licence application with Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) Officer and VIO at the driver's licence centre (DLC)
- Biometric Data Capture. This will be done at the desk of the FRSC officer present at the DLC.
- You will be issued a temporary driver's licence which will be valid for 60 days only
- Collect your driver's licence from the BIR office after 60 days.
How to Renew Your Driver's Licence
- Application for the renewal of your driver's licence can be done online at www.nigeriadriver'slicence.org OR you can do so at a Driver's licence centre
- Driver's licence fee payment. This can be done online or at the bank.

How to make payment for your driver's licence
You must have completed your application for a driver's licence before making payment. You will be asked to choose your payment option. If you select you want to pay at the bank, you will print out your transaction number and payment details which you will need to present at the bank.
Once you have made payment, you will be given a payment slip which confirms that you made payment.
If you prefer to pay online, after completing your driver's licence application, where you are asked your payment option, simply select: eWallet, Visa Credit/Visa Debit or Interswitch.

Log in to your eWallet account or Create an account if you do not have an eWallet account.
Once logged in, click on 'Bill', then select 'Active Bill'
This will take you to the payment page.
Simply click 'Pay'
Key in the details of the payment you want to make and click 'Payment'
You will see a notification that you made a successful payment or your payment failed.
Note that driver's licence processing offices are located in every state in Nigeria.
