Our hands and feet are very important parts of our body. Most of our daily activities are accomplished
with the hands and feet but for some reason, these part of our body are often not given the same attention we give to our face.Washing your hands and feet while having your bath is not the same as taking care of them.
Washing your hands when dirty is not enough to keep them wrinkle free.
The hands go through all manner of wear and tear. Your hands are often exposed to what our faces are not exposed to, yet we give much more attention to our faces and less to our hands. Why complain that we have dry looking hands?
You can get away with neglecting your hands but by the time you get older, you may not be that lucky.
You need to pay special attention to not only your face and other parts of the body but also your hands and feet. This is so important. It can be embarrassing to have such beautiful ageless skin but when one looks at your hands, they quickly reveal your age.
Causes of Dry hands and feet
1. Harsh weather conditions
2. Aging
3. Excessive exposure to soaps, hot water and. heat
4. Certain medications
5. Heredity
6. Deficiency in some vitamins such as Iron, Zinc, Vitamin D etc.
7. Some skin conditions caused by the cream we use on the body, diet, handy work,
How to take care of your hands and feet:
It's not just about the manicure and pedicure routine.
There has to be daily attention given to your hands and feet with the intention to keep it well maintained, moisturised and soft.
You have to pick a convenient time during the day. A time you will treat these parts of your body without having the need to wash the treated area.
A time just before bed is ideal.
This is not the usual manicure or pedicure routine. This is going to be your daily routine added to manicure and pedicure. This is one you do by yourself on daily basis.
Why not try this remedy.
Step 1:
Mix together the following ingredients.
3 table spoons of liquid milk
1 table spoon of honey
2 tea spoons of turmeric powder
1 table spoon of flour
1 egg white
Mix all together to form a paste. Place in the fridge for about 20 minutes.
Apply with a dense make-up brush on the hands (not the palm of your hands) and feet.
Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
Wash off gently with normal water at room temperature. Do not use hot water.
Step 2
Allow the hands to dry on its own.
Then apply Tretinion Cream [0.05% or 0.1%] over the treated area. Gently apply not massage please.
Tretinion Cream contains Retin-A or should I say that Retin-A contains Tretinion. The point here is that the Tretinion cream you will buy should have Retin-A written on it.
After applying this cream all over the treated area, follow up by applying a very good moisturising cream or anti-aging cream all over the treated area. Any moisturising cream or lotion you use on your face will do.
Do not use a lightening, brightening or bleaching cream at this time since it will react with the treatment you just gave your hands and feet.
After applying the special moisturiser all over the treated area. Let it absorb properly before you sleep.
Atleast this treatment can do its work on your skin throughout the night without being washed off.
If you can commit to doing this every night, you should see good results in a short time.
This will leave your hands soft and moisturised.
Also buy about 2 or 3 hand creams and place them in places you will always need them. In the bathroom, in your hand bag, somewhere in the car where it won't be affected by heat.
If possible, leave one in your office or places you frequent regularly.
Also invest in a mild, moisturing hand wash.
Avoid harsh chemicals touching your hands. If that can't be avoided, wear hand gloves for chores requiring you to touch harsh chemicals.
Anytime you wash your hands, Apply a generous amount of hand cream all over your hands.
Same with your feet.
Remain consistent and you will see the difference.
