Most people rely on alternative power supply like generators, inverter, rechargeable lamps or even candles and local lamps.
But what if your generator is not powerful enough to carry an iron, you do not have an iron or you do not have access to electricity? The point is you must not go out with rumpled clothing.
Here I will reveal to you ways to iron your clothes like a pro without electricity.
NB: The method explained below is strictly for adults and should NEVER be used by children.
1. Do you have a pot with one long handle and a foil paper? That's all you will need.
Simply tear our a large sized foil paper. It should be wide enough to wrap the pot.
Lay the foil paper flat on a table or floor. Place the pot on the foil paper. As if you want to wrap a gift, use the foil to wrap the pot. Ensure the base of the pot plus the foil wrapping it is flat. If it is not flat, it will not iron your clothes well.
If you cook with gas, you can place the foil wrapped pot over the burning flame. Let it heat up the pot, then place the pot over a different cotton material just to test it won't burn your cloth.
If it's safe, hold the handle of the pot and place it over the cloth you want to iron which is already laying flat on a surface.
The flat base of the pot is now your iron. Use it and iron your cloth.
If it is loosing heat, re-heat on the gas cooker and repeat the previous steps. Continue to do this until you have completely iron your clothes.
If you cook with stove or fire wood, this method is not ideal since stove and firewood flames leave black stains on the pot which will damage your clothes.
2. Another method is to boil a very hot water and carefully pour into a bowl. Place the area you want to iron over the bowl and watch the steam do its work by straightening your rumpled cloth.
Once the water starts loosing it's hot steam, re-boil and repeat the steps.
NB: Be very careful with hot water knowing that accidents can occur. Hot water should never touch your skin. It will leave almost irreparable damage on your skin. So be extremely careful.
