Healthy Skin Boosters

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the key to a youthful skin. To achieve this you have to put in the work and be consistent about it.

While some are lucky to be blessed with good genes which means that may achieve the best result with little or no effort, others need to put in more effort.

No matter your genetics, delaying the natural aging process by maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the best option for everyone.

Having enough sleep is very vital for a healthy skin. When you are sleeping your body is programmed to perform some important tasks before you wake up. Not getting enough sleep is like deliberately removing yourself from its benefits.
Do you know that when you sleep your skin cell regenerates? Your skin cells repair damaged cells and produce new ones when you sleep. Sleep also activates growth hormones like the production of collagen. Not sleeping enough makes your eyes look dull and gives you a tired look. No matter how busy you are, dedicate not less than eight hours everyday for a well deserved sleep.

Diet. I do not mean diet for weight loss. I mean choosing what goes into your body to be healthy. It means ensuring that whatever goes into your body passes the health test. Can you eat raw sugar for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Can you drink a gallon of oil? Can you snack on only butter? You are doing the same thing when you eat white bread in the morning, fried food in the afternoon and snacking on biscuits, ice cream, heavy drinking of alcohol etc.
A healthy diet means that your body has the necessary vitamins needed for a healthy skin. A lack of Vitamin A for instance will affect cell regeneration which gives your skin a lifeless look. Vitamin E improves the texture of the skin since it is a powerful antioxidant.

Exercise helps the blood to circulate faster in your body. When this happens it transports oxygen and nutrients to your cells. Exercise also helps in cellular turnover. You need to sweat atleast for 10 minutes in a day.

Sun exposure is awesome since you need it for vitamin D but remember that the ultraviolet rays from the sun will damage your skin.
