How to buy your electricity credit in Northern Nigeria with Buy Power

For residents in these northern part of Nigeria namely Abuja, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Kogi,
Nassarawa, Niger and Plateau State, you can buy your electricity top-up credit through Buy Power.
Below is the step by step guide on how to achieve that online.


1. Visit www.buypower.ng or simply Click here
2. Click on 'Register' (an orange box located below 'Login to your account')

3. You will be taken to a new page to register.

Type in your Name, Phone, E-mail Address (if you want to), Password and Confirm password.
4. Click on 'Register to continue'
This ends the registration process. You will receive a text message confirming your registration.

Now that you have successfully registered, whenever you need to buy credit, simply visit 'www.buypower.ng' or Click here
To login, key in the phone number you used to register your account.
Then enter your password to continue.
Click on 'Login to your account'
When the new page opens, select your state
Key in your meter number
Key in how much electricity you want to buy in Naira
Then in the 'Payment Type' box, select your method of payment. For instance if you want to pay with either your Master Card or Visa Card simply select the first option.
Click on 'Continue to Payment Information'

On the new pop-up page that you will see simply review your order to be sure your details are correct. If you are satisfied with it, click on 'Purchase'

It will take you to a pop-up card details page like this

where you will be required to key in your Card Number, Valid Till (your expiry date on your card written in month/year), then the CVV (this is the 3-digit number located at the back of your card.
Then click on 'Pay NGN.....'

On the pop-up page you will see 'Authorization Required. You'll be redirected to your bank for authorization'. Just click 'Yes, Continue'

Then you will have to follow the remaining instructions according to the bank you use.

If the payment was successful, you will wait for your electicity Token or Credit and the number of units to be displayed. Copy it and key it into you meter.
You will also receive a text message containing the Token.
