How To Fix A Broken Makeup: Eyeshadow, Facial Powder

You would wish you knew this trick earlier after learning this simple
method.

Your eye palette or facial compressed powder can slip and fall at any time right? Everyone understands it was a mistake but what about the priced product smashed on the floor. Then you also add to the disappointment of realizing it was one of your go-to shades.

What do you do?

Do not feel disappointed or sorry for yourself since in this post I will give you a simple trick you can use to fix the smashed eyeshadow which now is in a powdery form due to the fall.

You will only need 96 to 99percent Isopropyl Alcohol.
Yes, this is all you will need.

First scoop as much smashed powder as you can into a small bowl.
Pour few drops of alcohol over the powder enough to form a very thick paste.
Keep gently mixing it with a tiny plastic stick of some sort. Any thing can be used to mix it.

You will know when to stop mixing it by trying to scoop it. If it breaks apart you need to mix some more. When you lift it in one scoop and the mixture is held together, it is time to gently replace it in the space it fell off from or in the eyeshadow casing.

The easiest way to mix it is to pour the broken powder  and alcohol into a tiny zip lock bag. Rub the zip lock bag to mix the contents.
Keep mixing until it forms a thick sticky paste. You can unzip the bag and use a tiny plastic spoon to scoop the makeup into the original casing or a new one. Press the mixture flat, the way you want it to look when it is dry.

Once you have done that, flatten the paste so that it will level up as it was before it fell.

Let it sit that way for 24 hours or overnight

Your precious eyeshadow or powder is ready to be used.

Mistakes people make to fix broken makeup: Compact powder or eyeshadow:

You cannot fix broken makeup with water. Yes you can mix it with water to form a paste but water will not keep the powder glued together like alcohol will do.

Using hand sanitizer to fix broken makeup will make sense for some because a hand sanitizer has isopropyl alcohol as its major ingredient.
This is definitely not a good idea since there are also other ingredients that are used with isopropyl alcohol to make a hand sanitizer which will ruin your makeup, change the colour or shade and you will not like it.

BUT, if you are sure that the hand sanitizer contains only a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and 💯% aloe vera gel, yes you can use it.

The use of hydrogen peroxide to fix broken makeup is a big NO.
Hydrogen peroxide should never be applied on skin. It is dangerous and can cause blindness when applied to the eye area. It can also cause severe damage when ingested.
